We are looking for a second puppeteer for the R&D of our new show, When Seagulls Saved the World. The show explores the issue of plastic pollution, is aimed at a family audience, and will feature sea shanties and pasty-pinching seagull puppets.
For this stage of the project we are specifically looking for puppeteers with a base in Cornwall, as accommodation is not included and only local travel costs will be covered.
The engagement will include one week in August (w/c 9th) and two weeks in September (dates TBC but most likely w/c 6th and 13th September), plus a few community workshops in the Falmouth area, and will be paid at the Equity Minimum day rate of £100 a day. Rehearsals and the final sharing of the work-in-progress will take place either in, or within commutable distance of, Falmouth.
Auditions will take place over Zoom on the morning of 12th and 13th July. When applying, please state if you have a preference for either of these dates and we will do our best to accommodate this.
To apply, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your CV and a brief paragraph about what interests you in the project, highlighting any relevant experience, plus stating whereabouts in Cornwall you are based. Application deadline: 5pm Monday 5th July. Applicants will be contacted by 8th July at the latest to say whether they are being invited to audition.
