Thanks to funding from FEAST Cornwall, we are creating mindful puppetry packs to help vulnerable members of our community coming out of shielding.
With the official end of shielding this month, many people are feeling anxious about spending more time outside and with other people. Puppetry is not only enjoyable to watch, it can also help calm and focus the mind. Our mindful puppetry packs will include a mix of mindfulness exercises and puppet-making activities people can do in their own homes.
An online version of the pack will be available to download for a suggested donation of £3.50, but thanks to funding from the FEAST Re-Ignition 2 Fund we are able to make 50 physical packs available for free, which will also include a selection of craft materials. These packs will be delivered to people in Falmouth, Penryn and the surrounding area throughout August and September.
We are working with several local community organisations to help us reach people who would benefit from receiving a pack, but also welcome suggestions from our community. If you know someone living in Cornwall who is anxious about stopping shielding, and who you think would enjoy receiving one of our packs, please get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org.
More information and updates as the project progresses will be available at https://noseyhedgehog.com/community-projects/mindful-puppetry-packs.
FEAST is a programme to make great art happen across Cornwall. FEAST harnesses the talents and energy of Cornwall’s artists and communities, generating new opportunities for everyone to enjoy the arts. The focus is on bringing people together to share experiences as audiences or participants, and on animating local celebrations and cultural life.
Investment for FEAST comes from Arts Council England and Cornwall Council. The programme is managed by Creative Kernow. www.feastcornwall.org
