We are taking part in this year’s Children’s Art Week, encouraging children and young people to explore the natural world through our online creative tutorials.
Children’s Art Week 2020 actually takes place over three weeks, from 29 June to 19 July. Each week has a special theme:
- Week 1: The Natural World
- Week 2: Connecting across generations
- Week 3: Literacy and creative writing
Nosey Hedgehog Puppetry is taking part in the first week, which includes an exciting array of nature-inspired visual art activities from various creative organisations across the UK. Fostering an appreciation for the natural world is a key ethos of our theatre company, so we feel this is a great opportunity to try and reach more children, young people and families and share our puppet-making tutorials with them.
Through our Children’s Art Week activities, you can:
- Make a hedgehog puppet out of an egg box
- Make a badger puppet out of a black glove and part of an egg box
- Make a little rock pool theatre out of an empty soap box
If you do any of our creative tutorials we would love to see your creations, so please do share them with us on social media (Facebook @noseyhedgehog, Twitter @NoseyHedgehog, Instagram @noseyhedgehogpuppetry), or feel free to email us a picture at firstname.lastname@example.org.
There’s a whole host of other wonderful creative activities to have a go at on the Children’s Art Week website, from animal doodles to making a nature loom, printing with plants, making your own mini museum collection or creating a butterfly mobile. Take a look!
